Need Inspiration?

If you're a photographer living in coastal Delaware and running out of ideas on where and what to shoot around the Rehoboth Beach area, this post is for you!

I've been living in Delaware over year and a half now but have been vacationing here since 2015 as well. While i'm not the THE expert, here's a good starter plan on some location ideas for your next photoshoot. Obviously the beaches are the first thing that comes to mind. There's the beaches in Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Broadkill, Dewey Beach and Bethany Beach. Cape Henlopen State Park has a lot of great beaches, especially at The Point or Gordons Pond. If you're commercially shooting there though, you'll need to get a permit! Fort Miles is very scenic if that's your thing too.

Farms across Delaware is a big thing (if you haven't noticed), but you'll need to get permission to shoot on the property. Some have a small fee of 25 dollars or so to take pictures there or offer up mini-sessions. Getting up early for the sunrise is something one does at the beach, if you're a morning person. I tend to go to Rehoboth Beach right by the bandstand since Cape Henlopen isn't open yet but there's plenty of spots besides that one. Sunset would be at Cape Henlopen and Lewes Beaches. Only downside with shooting at the bandstand area is that's where a lot of other people go to take pictures of the sun rising. Might be better going down a bit off the beaten path.

The town of Lewes is always scenic, no matter the time of day. Weekdays are less crowded then weekends and holiday season things are done up that would make Clark Grisworld smile. If you travel up to north a bit to Fifers Orchard, Autumn is the hottest time to visit there with their pumpkin patches and corn mazes.

Milton has a lot of small town charm, and some spots worthy of some pictures. The little park in town is nice, or by Wagamon's Pond during sunset is pretty good. Edward McCabe Preserve is great for pictures or taking the dogs for a walk. There's a few different trails there.

That's just a few different idea to get you started with taking pictures in Delaware. I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch but off the top of my head and places that I've been to, hit those spots and see some photos below for some inspiration.
